Oh, my god! A snowstorm totally ruined my winter vacation. The white snow, the lovely, beautiful elf for me, made me go through a hard and tough vacation. I had been dreaming of snow for a long time. As far as I remembered, it had not snowed for several years. Maybe God knew my wish, so he made my dream come true. It began to snow in the late afternoon. I heard the sound of wind and snow passing by the windows when night fell. As time went on, it became weaker and weaker. “Oh, what a shame! I hope the earth will have a new dress. However, the snow might stop …” I said to myself and then fell asleep. The next morning when I awakened from my sweet dream, I, an early bird, got up without hesitation, although a little bit reluctant I was to leave my warm nest. Walking toward the balcony, I was amazed by the outside picture. It was completely white. Everything was covered with heavy snow. My dad heard me and walked fast from the washroom. He was startled as well. “How heavy the snow is,” he said. I leapt and jumped, as cheery as a lark. However, a chain of unpleasant things that happened later saddened me. I stayed at home alone, watching films and cartoons on the computer and chatting with my friends through QQ. Everything was going well. Suddenly, the electricity shut off. My computer stopped working and turned into a dead machine. The electric stove went on strike together with the computer. I began to feel cold and trembled from head to toe. The house was like a huge fridge at once. Walking back and forth allowed me to feel warm. The time seemed to be still at that moment. The air around me was so cold that I put the mattress over myself waiting for my parents to come home from work. Then it was high time I cooked. Do you know what happened? Oh, my god! There was no running water and the gas was out, too.” I murmured. Bewildered with the unusual occurrence, I dashed downstairs looking for help from my aunt. She told me that the water in the pipes had frozen into ice because of the low temperature and the electrical lines and poles fell down because of the weight of the snow. That resulted in power failure. The city became a mess. The traffic of the city was held back. People rushed into restaurants to have meals. The price of food skyrocketed immediately. Instead of adding jubilance to the Spring Festival, the snowstorm brought chilliness and difficulties to us. Besides, a lot of frostbite covered my whole body so that I could hardly sleep at night. For almost twenty days I was besieged in one house. There was no water, no electricity, no gas and no sunshine. What a terrible vacation I had!
